Key terms revision
- Conglomerate -Large organisation that owns smaller companies (subsidiaries). e.g. Activision.
- Distribution - The methods by which media products are delivered to audiences, including the marketing campaign. e.g. Disney + use to distribute their Disney films and TV shows
- Synergy - When you choose the most effective method of marketing using your subsidiaries to maximize the success of a brand or product. Cross promotion is used to maximise the success of a brand. e.g. Merchandise, adverts on the website and on Disney+
- Horizontal integration - When you advertise your product across your subsidiary companies in different media sectors
- mise-en-scene - Everything in the frame. e.g. Lighting, colours, costumes, make up, setting, iconography and acting
- Continuity editing - invisible editing, not meant to notice the cuts.
- Panning - where the camera moves left and right to set the scene and the time.
Composition - How we film something. e.g. choosing to put people in a group or on their own to connote loneliness
Rule of thirds - when the frame is broken down into 9 parts.
